Our NORQAIN logo with the two side-by-side N’s symbolises a mountain peak. The Swiss Alps have always inspired us and their perfect imperfections have influenced our vision. An adventurous mountaineering spirit is deeply rooted in our DNA and we are constantly seeking the next challenge.
For us, “Swiss made” is more than a designation on our watch dials. NORQAIN itself is Swiss made, and it was built on a solid foundation of family tradition. For more than four decades, our family has been creating and developing watches in Tavannes in the Bernese Jura. Now, with NORQAIN, we have united our experience and expertise – an exciting adventure for all of us. This know-how allows us to offer top-quality watches that meet the highest Swiss watchmaking standards. The fact that NORQAIN is independent means that our unique values will continue to distinguish our brand, and our customers will always be our inspiration.
NORQAIN was founded by CEO Ben Küffer in 2018 and he brought on Ted Schneider, a member of the family that owned Breitling for nearly 40 years, and Mark Streit, the Swiss ice hockey legend and Stanley Cup winner, as Co-Founders and Board members. Marc Küffer, Chairman of the Board, has over 45 years of experience – mainly as owner and CEO – manufacturing Swiss luxury watches, and he spent 25 years on the Board of Directors of the Swiss Watch Industry Association. We and our premium suppliers share a long-term vision for the Swiss watch industry and NORQAIN will continuously invest in the quality of our products to offer our customers the highest quality timepieces.
NORQAIN believes in creating timepieces that inspire its fans to live in the moment. We use our expertise stemming from deep roots in mechanical watchmaking to make sure every second is measured with absolute precision. We are one of a few Swiss watch brands that produce only mechanical watches. All our watches are assembled by hand by our expert watchmakers at the production site in Tavannes. We test and quality check each timepiece for several days to ensure it meets our strict quality standards in terms of precision, functionality and robustness. All NORQAIN watches are designed in-house and feature high-end case finishing, creative dial designs, a customisable “NORQAIN plate”, and colour matching date discs for all dials as well as an open caseback on all models, allowing watch enthusiasts to admire both the NN20 Manufacture Calibres and the ETA / Sellita movements with personalised NORQAIN oscillating weights.
The models in the Adventure, Freedom and Independence collections feature unique design elements and are made from the highest-quality materials, such as 316L stainless steel, solid 18K gold, robust ceramic and stylish bronze. All NORQAIN timepieces are water resistant to a minimum of 100 metres. The “NORQAIN plate” adds a one-of-a-kind touch to each model. This detail on the left side of the case is open to customise with a word to live by, a date to remember or the location of a meaningful life moment. This is just one way that NORQAIN’s spirit encourages customers to live life on their own terms. With a range of straps to choose from and the option to customise your choice, NORQAIN watches have been designed to complement an active lifestyle.
In February 2020, NORQAIN announced the news of its strategic long-term partnership with movement manufacturer Kenissi. The first results of this important alliance were two exclusive Manufacture calibres for NORQAIN’s Adventure, Freedom and Independence collections. Proven robustness, premier performance and precision that exceeds industry standards, the three-hand NN20/1 and the GMT NN20/2 both feature a 70-hour power reserve are chronometer certified and are ready to accompany you on your next adventure.
At the beginning of 2020, NORQAIN announced it had entered into a strategic partnership with the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA). In honour of this alliance, we launched a limited-edition Adventure Sport Chrono in October 2020 that incorporates details that dynamically link the timepiece to the thrilling sport of ice hockey. As part of this partnership, NORQAIN had a presence in the NHLPA All-Star Lounge, interacting with all 44 all-stars. And over the course of the partnership, several NHLPA players will participate in exclusive NORQAIN initiatives, and NORQAIN will also have a presence at joint events during the hockey season and in the off-season.The commitment of NORQAIN Board member Mark Streit, 2017 Stanley Cup winner and Swiss hockey legend, and Roman Josi, three-time NHL All-Star player, «Norris Trophy» winner and captain of the Nashville Predators has been a key factor in NORQAIN’s entry into ice hockey and in the establishment of this important alliance with the NHLPA.
