Leonie Küng

“I come from a sports-loving family. It’s something we’re all hugely passionate about. Quite remarkable considering where I am now though, no one had played any tennis whatsoever until I stumbled upon the sport. It wasn’t until I picked up my first racquet as a child that I fell in love with the game, and subsequently so did my family. And I must emphasise the importance of my family in this passion. We’re a team; my parents are my coaching team and my family my biggest supporters. We’re all in it together. Tennis is my passion. Everything I do is with the ultimate goal of improving and becoming the best player I can be. And when I get results like I did at Wimbledon in 2018, it makes all the hard work and sacrifices worth it.

My goal is now clear. I want to make it to the top. “Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn‘t work hard.”
